Welcome to Marea. Marea is the trading name of Karina Sofia Reyes Corsino, an independent professional registered in Portugal and based in Cascais. By accessing or using this website, you agree to be bound by the following Terms & Conditions.
1. What These Terms Cover
These terms govern your use of this website and the general basis on which we offer our services. The specific terms of any project, including scope, deliverables, timelines and fees, are set out in a separate written proposal or agreement, which takes precedence over this page wherever the two differ.
2. Services
Marea provides social media strategy and management, content production, photography and video, video editing, event coverage, community management and related consulting.
Services are offered to businesses and professionals rather than to consumers. All services are offered subject to availability and under mutually agreed written terms, and we take on a limited number of clients at a time.
Submitting an inquiry, receiving a reply, or having a discovery call does not constitute a contract or guarantee of service. A project begins only when scope and fees have been agreed in writing by both sides.
3. Payments & Fees
Prices shown on this website are starting points. Final fees depend on scope and are confirmed in a written proposal.
Pricing, payment schedules and service scope are defined in individual proposals or agreements. All fees are exclusive of VAT unless otherwise stated.
Late payment may result in work being paused until the account is settled, and may incur interest at the rate permitted by Portuguese law.
4. Minimum Terms and Cancellation
Full Social Media Management carries a three-month minimum, because strategy needs time to produce measurable results. Other services have no minimum unless stated.
Notice periods, cancellation, and the treatment of work already completed or scheduled are set out in the individual agreement.
5. No Guarantees
While all services are delivered with professional care and expertise, we do not guarantee specific outcomes, results or performance metrics, including follower growth, engagement, reach, inquiries or revenue.
Results may vary based on factors outside our control, including platform algorithms, your market, your own operations and the response of your audience. Any figures, case studies or past results shown on this website describe what was achieved for those clients and are not a promise of comparable results.
6. Platforms We Do Not Control
Our services depend on third-party platforms, including Instagram and other social networks. We are not responsible for changes to their features, policies, algorithms or availability, for account restrictions or suspensions imposed by them, or for any loss resulting from those.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, visuals, video, branding, the Marea name and mark, and any strategy frameworks or methods described, is the intellectual property of Karina Sofia Reyes Corsino unless otherwise stated. You may not copy, reproduce or distribute any content without written permission.
Ownership of deliverables produced for a client, and the point at which rights transfer, are set out in the individual agreement. As a general rule, rights in final delivered work pass to the client on full payment, while working files, templates, internal frameworks and methods remain ours.
You keep ownership of everything you provide to us, and you grant us the permission needed to use it for the agreed work. You confirm that you hold the rights to any content you provide.
Unless agreed otherwise in writing, we may show work produced for a client, along with results achieved, in our portfolio, website, social media and proposals. Where a client has granted this right by contract, it survives the end of the engagement.
8. Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for:
Providing accurate and complete information
Meeting agreed timelines
Supplying required content, materials, access and approvals when applicable
Giving feedback within the agreed review windows
Holding the rights to any content they provide
Delays caused by missing information, access or approvals may impact delivery timelines, and we are not responsible for the consequences of those delays.
9. Revisions
Every content piece, shoot plan, shot list and content calendar includes two rounds of revisions unless otherwise stated. Additional revisions, or changes to agreed scope, may carry a fee.
10. Confidentiality
We treat non-public information you share with us as confidential and will not disclose it to third parties except as needed to deliver the work or as required by law. We ask the same of you regarding our proposals, pricing and working documents.
11. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to that, Marea shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profit, revenue, data, goodwill or anticipated savings, arising from the use of this website or our services.
Our total liability in connection with any project is limited to the total fees paid by the client for that project.
12. Third-Party Links
This website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content, products, privacy practices or availability.
13. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. The current version is always posted on this page with its effective date. Changes do not affect projects already agreed in writing.
14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from our services, are governed by the law of Portugal. The courts of the district of Lisbon have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory rights you may have under the law of your own country.
15. Files, Delivery and Retention
Delivered work is made available to the client through a shared link or folder. The client is responsible for downloading and keeping their own copies.
Files remain available for 60 days from the date of delivery, or 60 days from the end of the engagement, whichever is later. After that period they may be deleted without further notice, and we are under no obligation to maintain an archive of completed work.
Longer retention can be agreed in writing, and may carry a fee. We may also choose to keep files for longer at our discretion, which does not create an ongoing obligation to do so.
Working files, raw footage and unused material are not deliverables and are not covered by this period. They remain ours and may be deleted at any time unless the agreement says otherwise.
